Henley Coast Park (Esplanade)

Client: City of Charles Sturt

Project: Henley Coast Park (Esplanade)

Stage 2 of the Henley South Coastal Park Walkway upgrade was a state and federally funded initiative to beautify and increase safety along the Adelaide Coastal Park. BluBuilt was engaged as Head Contractor to deliver this project, which involved modifying the existing roadway to incorporate the continuation of the Coastal Park shared use path, which extends from Aldinga Beach along the Adelaide’s coastline to North Haven. The Henley South section of work also involved significant modification of The Esplanade to increase efficient stormwater drainage and also improve the region’s aesthetics.

  • Major road reconstruction and realignment
  • Creation of a coloured concrete shared use feature path
  • Installation of new public lighting
  • Installation of timber decking and beach access ramps
  • Storm water infrastructure
  • Brick paving
  • Soft landscaping

Heavy traffic in this area required detailed and ongoing traffic management of cyclists, pedestrians and vehicles – this situation required continual seasonal adjustment to accommodate beach goers.
