The St Kilda Adventure Playground castle structure is progressing well with the locally manufactured spiral slide lowered into the main structure today, well on target for the official opening scheduled for 22 November 2015.
The new ‘castle’ structure is part of the City of Salisbury’s $3.55M upgrade to the iconic St Kilda Adventure Playground. BluBuilt provided an alternate offer as part of its tender for the design and construct project which comprised a ‘open’ structural steel framework clad with security mesh in lieu of the concept design primarily utilising shipping containers for the main structure. The adoption of this alternate proposal improved the overall aesthetics of the structure and at the same time improved general amenity, public safety, security and ‘whole of life’ cost outcomes.
The three storey structure comprises:
a central spiral slide – stainless steel
a ‘junior’ slide accessed from the first level – stainless steel
an ‘intermediate’ slide accessed from the second level – stainless steel
