Conyngham Street Depot

The Conyngham Street Council Depot facility was transformed into a new community 'hub-like' setting incorporating both critical Council services and community engagement facilities

Scope

The project required implementation of both our building and civil skillsets. The project consisted of:

  • Demolition of existing buildings and storage bunkers
  • Bulk earthworks, including treatment of contaminated soils
  • Construction of the new 39m x 12m ‘Men’s Shed’
  • Construction of new Biodiversity Nursery
  • Establishment of the Community Garden
  • Construction of the Working Depot (including bunkers, storage etc.)
  • Construction of the new Dog House
  • Car parking and hardstand

Challenges

  1. Existing storm water easement within the site and diversion of culverts
  2. Contaminated materials and soil
  3. Intricate cladding to produce an aesthetically pleasing finish
  4. Installation of internal feature plywood ceilings linings around structural steelwork and suspended infrastructure
