The redevelopment involved the transformation of Chapel Street from an active roadway into a new public plaza with seating, lighting, public art, and more trees to create a new and welcoming open space for the community and visitors. On the opposite side of Jetty Road, the upgrade of Hindmarsh Lane effectively strengthened pedestrian connections within the precinct and included new public toilets, a parent room, and accessible toilets and facilities for people with profound disabilities and their carers, all within a newly created public space.
