Kingston Park Kiosk

Unveiling the perfect spot for coffee, breakfast, and lunch for residents and holidaymakers alike.

Scope

This exciting project brings to life a brand new kiosk/cafe/restaurant, designed to be your go-to destination for delicious meals and refreshing drinks. While creating this inviting space, we ensured minimal disruption to the natural environment, carefully removing vegetation and existing furniture before construction began.

The architecturally designed kiosk boasts comfortable seating for up to 40 guests indoors and 42 outdoors, offering a delightful experience whether you choose to dine in or grab your order to go.

The works included:

  • demolition of general materials
  • structural steel framing
  • new partition walls
  • carpentry
  • internal fitout
  • mechanical services
  • electrical servcise
  • hydraulic services
  • aluminium, joinery and office furniture
  • landscaping
  • external pavements

Challenges

  1. Steel coating in a highly corrosive environment required minimal on-site changes, with accuracy being imperative before the steel arrived.
  2. Specifying multiple different external linings with a flush finish on a single plane necessitated careful planning, including framing out the walls. This was overcome using different wall thicknesses and methods of bettening out.
  3. The designed levels for the grease arrester meant we encountered the water table at an earlier depth than originally reported/estimated. We implemented detailed planning to dewater the excavated area and ensure the installation wasn’t compromised.
  4. Delineating a live environment within a high-traffic area.
