The Wakefield Regional Council is undertaking a series of major upgrades to future proof town assets and cater for significant growth. The project comprised construction of the Port Wakefield Master Plan Stage 1 – Edward Street Upgrade.

The scope of works included:

• Demolition of the existing roadway, paving, and kerb lines
• Construction of a new plaza in front of the Rising Sun Hotel
• New kerbing and road pavements
• Design and construction of a new irrigation system
• New raingardens and garden beds
• Installation of street and catenary lighting
• Planting and mulching
• Paving to roadways and pedestrian areas
• Roadway asphalting and kerb reinstatement.
