Civil and construction works of a new architecturally designed SAAS ambulance station.

Scope

Construction of a ‘fit for purpose’ ambulance station that will provide;

• Accommodation for up to four (4) people:
• Garaging for four (4) emergency vehicles
• Fully functional kitchen and dining.
• Training and crew room
• Amenities, offices, work stations, locker and drug storage.
• 5 Star IGRAT rating

• Plasterboard walls and ceilings
• Aluminium Windows
• Lockers, bench seating etc
• Floor linings (Carpet/Vinyl/Tiling)

Challenges

1. Project site contained high amounts of sub-surface rock, making it challenging to undertake all civil works and providing challenges to maintain program.

2. Extreme weather created tricky site conditions.

3. Location of overhead powerlines on boundary meant for additional planning when lifting structural and large components into place.

4. Site had 3m cross fall that needed an extensive amount of retaining & civils works.
