Challenges

  1. Excavation and Spoil Removal: The basement excavation faced challenges with the water table being 500mm above the basement subgrade. Dewatering was necessary to minimize program delays, and the foundations were redesigned to counter the latent conditions.
  2. Boundary to Boundary Construction: The project was located on one of Adelaide’s busiest streets, requiring continuous modifications to Traffic Management Plans to ensure minimal disruptions to local businesses and residents.
  3. Coordination and Installation of Precast Panels: Due to overhead power lines and a tight site, the methodology for installing precast panels had to be meticulously planned and executed with no margin for error. This was achieved through thorough communication.
